Shipping label management and payment system Ikas has announced that it will initiate operations in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), as well as Germany and Switzerland.
Ikas CEO Mustafa Namoglu said US tech giants largely overlook CEE and his company will offer SMEs a reliable, user-friendly interface as well as support for local dialects and around-the-clock customer support.
Founded in 2017, Ikas offers an online platform for retail businesses. As well as its native Turkey, the company currently also operates in Germany, killerstartups wrote.
Ikas recently accumulated USD 20mn in a “Series A” funding round, and wants to challenge platforms such as Shopify, Wix, and WooCommerce in CEE.
Forming the basis of its expansion into CEE, the USD 20mn was predominantly led by World Bank Group associate International Finance Corporation, as well as Re-Pie Asset Management and Revo Capital.
